Quantitative Brokers has launched its execution algorithms on B3, Brazil’s main exchange, extending the agency broker’s footprint into Latin America’s largest market.
The rollout brings the firm’s flagship strategies to B3’s derivatives venue, where international funds and local asset managers are active in equities, rates and FX contracts. The company announced the expansion on Monday.
At launch, Quantitative Brokers is offering a selection from its established suite that includes Bolt for arrival-price execution, Strobe for schedule-based trading and Closer for trading into the close, with additional strategies available as demand builds. The firm markets a broader lineup across assets, including Legger, Octane, The Roll and Striker.
B3 is among the world’s largest market infrastructures and the leading exchange in Latin America, providing deep liquidity in benchmark futures. Its most traded contracts include Ibovespa futures and Mini Ibovespa (WIN), one-day interbank deposit (DI) rate futures and U.S. dollar (DOL and mini WDO) futures. Product details and contract specs are listed on B3’s site.
Quantitative Brokers Model and analytics focus
Quantitative Brokers positions itself as an agency-only provider focused on market microstructure. The firm says its models adapt to order-book conditions to minimize slippage and market impact while providing transaction-cost analytics for post-trade review.
For workflow, QB highlights integrations with major execution and order management systems and a presence on the Bloomberg App Portal, allowing desks to deploy the strategies within existing toolchains. A prior integration note described ticketing and simulation tools available to terminal users.
The move into Brazil follows several years of global expansion by the New York-based firm into APAC and FX. In 2020, Deutsche Börse acquired a majority stake in Quantitative Brokers, a deal framed as part of the German group’s broader buy-side strategy.
Local connectivity in Brazil continues to improve as international firms seek lower-latency access and local compliance. Ideal CTVM, a São Paulo-based electronic broker recognized under B3’s Operational Qualification Program, became controlled by Itaú Unibanco after regulators approved a phased transaction in 2023, according to the broker’s disclosures. Ideal emphasizes institutional electronic execution and authorized redistribution of B3 market data.
Impact for desks
Brazil’s derivatives complex has long been a magnet for global macro and equity-index strategies, with rate volatility and liquidity in DI and equity index futures drawing both directional and relative-value flows.
As institutional investors standardize their execution stacks across regions, bringing agency algos to B3 gives desks more consistent tools for measuring implementation shortfall and comparing venue quality. Recent vendor materials also point to increased demand for post-trade TCA and schedule-based execution in futures.
