Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud have rolled out a shared multicloud networking service, marking a key alliance between competitors.
This setup aims to speed up connections between their clouds, making it simpler for companies to handle data across platforms. Businesses now face fewer hurdles in linking systems, focusing more on growth than tech setups.
Tackling Connectivity Challenges
Before this, setting up private ties between clouds took weeks of hands-on work. That slow process raised risks of slowdowns and breakdowns. An AWS outage in October 2025 showed how fragile these links can be, disrupting operations worldwide.
With more firms using multiple clouds, steady cross-platform ties help prevent such issues and keep work flowing. This partnership directly responds to those gaps, offering a path to stronger infrastructure amid rising demands.
Building Streamlined Secure Connections
The service merges AWS Interconnect–multicloud and Google Cloud’s Cross-Cloud Interconnect, letting users create private connections in minutes. It handles the tough parts behind the scenes, so teams can shift data and apps quickly.
Security comes built-in with encryption and backup paths in various sites, reducing downtime risks. Salesforce stands out as an early user, showing real-world uptake. This approach cuts setup time from weeks to moments, freeing resources for core operations.
